Mike Moniz
 

Owner and founder, Mike Moniz, established Schoolhouse Music Services & the MIDI Schoolhouse in 1994 as a resource for music educators desiring training in new technologies. He has trained more than a thousand teachers and administrators in the use of technology to enhance their teaching and create new learning environments for their students.

Services currently include:

During the months of June - August, the Summer Music Technology Institute provides graduate level music technology courses that are offered at various professional development centers and public schools. The Professional Development / In-Service Workshops are offered throughout the school year and can be arranged at the institution's facility. All MIDI equipment can be provided.

 

Schoolhouse Music Services & the MIDI Schoolhouse provides music technology and multimedia consulting services, professional development programs, music technology training and Artist ( Technologist) In Residence programs. A former public school music educator / administrator, Mike is a graduate of Boston University with B.M.degree and Bridgewater State College with a M. Ed. He is an Associate Professor at the Berklee College of Music, an adjunct professor for Salem State and Fitchburg State Colleges, Vice President of the Technology Institute for Music Educators and a consultant / technology trainer for the Massachusetts Elementary School Principals' Association (MESPA), and the Northeast Consortium for Staff Development.

 

As Technology Chairperson for the Massachusetts Music Educators Association, he coordinates all technology sessions offered at the All State Conference. Mike is a certified instructor for the Technology Institute for Music Educators (TI:ME) and offers graduate credit / TI:ME national certification courses at both the MESPA Technology Center in Marlborough, MA and at numerous sites throughout the Northeast as part of his annual Summer Music Technology Institute. He has presented music technology sessions at the Christa McAullife Technology Conference, the New England League of Middle Schools, the New England Band Director's Association, as well as State music educator conferences in Texas, Massachusetts, Georgia, Kansas, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut and New York. He is an active member of numerous organizations including MENC, MMEA, and TI:ME.
